Hattem is a municipality and a city in the eastern Netherlands. The city population is 11,710. (31 dec. 2008)
Hattem received city rights in 1299, one year before Amsterdam.
Hattem, bordering the forests of ‘De Veluwe’ and along the IJssel river has much to offer: cosy terraces, interesting museums, a large variety of authentic shops an annually returning events.
Hattem is a city where many elements of the medieval town returned. Hattem celebrates each year De dikke tinne festival in a medieval atmosphere.
